Sacred Technology

Sacred Technology

THIS IS MORE THAN MEDITATION

Inner Space Weekly is an invitation into Kriya Yoga Technology—an ancient spiritual practice centered on breath, concentration, meditation, and the movement of prana, or life force.

Kriya is not about chasing an instant experience.

It is a practice of discipline, devotion, awareness, and surrender.

A practice of becoming still.

A practice of turning inward.

A practice of evolutionary action.

Kriya = Evolutionary Action

Over time, consistent practice can become a pathway toward deeper awareness and self-realization.

WHAT IS KRIYA YOGA TECHNOLOGY?

AN INNER SCIENCE OF AWARENESS

Unlike yoga practices that primarily emphasize physical postures, Kriya Yoga Technology works primarily through breath, prana, concentration, meditation, and awareness.

The practice creates a framework for turning attention inward and cultivating greater stillness.

With regular practice, the intention is not to force an outcome, but to create the conditions for awareness to deepen naturally.

Origins and Lineage

Kriya Yoga was revived for the modern world by Mahavatar Babaji, a Himalayan master said to have preserved the ancient yogic teachings in their pure form. It was then passed down to Lahiri Mahasaya, who made it accessible to householders, and later to Sri Yukteswar and Paramahansa Yogananda, who introduced it to the West through the Autobiography of a Yogi.

These teachings trace their roots to the ancient Himalayan Rishis, who discovered that the body and breath are the bridge to mastering energy (prana) and consciousness.

The Science of Life Force (Prana)

At its core, Kriya Yoga is a pranic technology, a method of directing life-force energy through the central energy channel (sushumna nadi) along the spine.
By consciously controlling the breath, attention, and subtle energy, practitioners can:

  • Still the fluctuations of the mind,

  • Awaken dormant spiritual energy (Kundalini),

  • And accelerate the purification of karma (energetic impressions).

The breath becomes the tool to transmute life energy into spiritual awareness.

The Kriya Techniques

Breathwork or control: Directing energy up and down the spine in rhythmic cycles to magnetize and purify the subtle channels.
Meditation: Deep internal stillness where awareness rests in the divine self.
Mantra and Mudra: Sacred sound and gestures that refine vibrational frequency.
Self-inquiry and devotion (bhakti): Balancing inner discipline with surrender to the divine.

Each Kriya acts like a “spiritual accelerator,” compressing years of natural evolution into a shorter, more conscious process.

Purpose

Kriya Yoga is Self-realization—the direct experience of one’s unity with the Infinite. In essence, Kriya Yoga bridges science and spirituality, body and soul, matter and consciousness.

Himalayan Wisdom Tradition

The Himalayan yogis view the human being as a microcosm of the universe. Their teachings are highly systematic and experiential—each breath, sound, and movement is designed to align the practitioner with cosmic intelligence. Unlike modern “styles” of yoga focused on posture, this path is a technology of consciousness, hidden for centuries in the caves and monasteries of the Himalayas to protect its sanctity.

“This was a great introduction into kriya! I loved the theme about tapping into our creativity along with the use of the essential oil. The class was a powerful vessel to access energy. Wonderful explanations and instruction - thank you, Lindsey!”
